Doctor Fish?

Hi all,

Just curious if anyone has been to that place in Turkey where they have (what they call) 'Doctor Fish'?!
I've been looking on the website for it, just wondering if anyone here has actually tried it?
Can't remember the exact website address for it but I'm sure it'll be easy to find through a Search Engine.

Hopefully getting light treatment in the next few weeks. I REALLY hope it helps, even just a little bit. My Psoriasis is the worst it's ever been - elbows, legs, back, stomach, and more...'ahem'...personal places (!!!). Not good. Absolutely DREADING going on holiday this year... I'm going to Egypt in June - I should be excited!

Sorry can't help you with the site you mentioned.
I wish you all the best with your light treatment I found it to be very benficial. Perhaps if you get a little exposure to the nice weather we're having of late, does the good weather help your P ?

To be honest I haven't dared baring my skin to the sun yet.... not even in my back garden. Silly huh, don't even want to sunbathe in the privacy of my own garden!
Last year when I went away on holiday it got very sore and dry - But then I was going in the swimming pool a lot so I doubt the Chlorine helped it.

Will let you know how my light treatment goes anyway! And thanks for responding!

No it's not silly we have all been there too many times you will do it when you feel it is right and you feel comfortable.
I had to stop swimming because of the chlorine in the water my skin became extremely dry and tight and also sore and painful, damned chemicals. My Derm actually told me it wouldn't help and told me to stop swimming. I am suprised that he actually gave me that advice as half the time he never listened. On this occasion though he was right.

good luck with your light therapy . I had good results from my use of the light though i will admit that the area of covered does not sound as large as yours, nevertheless one patch was quite large and had persisted there on my knee for close to the 30 years . it has now more or less cleared completely . I stopped using the light therapy several weeks ago now and no sign of it coming back .
after having adapted to having p for so long i am not as excited by this as I should be . but really this is great for me.

So please take hope I am sure that you will achieve some improvement at least using the light therapy . Just resist the temptation to over expose yourself at first . Just use the light as directed and wait for the results to come . be cautious with the exposure times follow the guidelines if you stick with it I am sure you will see an improvement of some kind . and this will be achieved with out any chemicals . remember there is a lag between when you expose yourself to the light and when the benefits are achieved , you don't want to cook your skin by applying to much light in the meantime .

I have heard of a fish treatment in Japan where these little fish come and nibble your plagues away. Personally,I prefer to eat fish, not have fish eating me!Does not sound really like a treatment, but just takes the plaques away. Not too sure how anyone discovered this.

I've heard about the Turkey fish as well...I think they are Kangal fish (or that's the name of the center--hard to tell). Here's two sites I found about it:

Though I have not been this place myself, I've decided to go when I can possibly afford it -- which probably will never happen. I believe airfare to Turkey nowadays (just basing on comments from a friend who lives in Bulgaria) reaches at least $1000. However, I'm not sure if having the fish "strike and lick clean the lesions" of psoriasis will be that beneficial after all--the Koebner phenomena usually results for me at the site of any trauma. And it's extremely detestful that people would be charged to see a piece of nature (like having to pay to park at the pier). Still, though the price isn't right, I'm guessing that if the psoriasis is severe and other treatments have failed, it might be worth a try, if not for a vacation.
