P AND WINTER

Postby Lisaw » Thu Jun 14, 2007 12:24 pm

Is it just my imagination or is winter good for P. Haven't had any real major breakouts for awhile and we're going into winter. I was really bad over summer and remember reading somewhere on this sight that clorine probably isn't the best for P and that explains it now why my scalp was so bad over summer, see we have a pool. Or is it just the fact that I am not using the pool now as it's too cold.

P in winter

Speaking from personal experience I find psoriasis clears up in winter but returns in the summer.

funny that as my p clears upin summer.

hi, I think a bit of this is to do with where people live, diet and life style also. Usually in summer people get ouside more, get more sunshine and natural UV exposure, plus eat more fresh foods, are more active and generally feel better, so there is also a stress reduction. A lot of people travel to the dead sea to bath in the "magic" salt baths, but often these people are from colder climates, and would probably get the same results by visiting their local beach and swimming in the ocean.

I am curious why someone's psoriasis would seem better in winter though. My initial thought would be diet changes in winter. It may be one food, fruit or vegitable that changes...... either something comes avialble or becomes unavailable at the shops. Why psoriasis clears up in summer is obvious, but the other was around is somewhat a mystery I guess.

stranger things have been seen. My Psoriasis clears up noticably during hot summer months. I have taken beach holidays just to help with my psoriasis. That is really why I bought a Dermaray, so that I could have UV sun treatment at home and have the benefits all year around.
