hey all ...

anyone have any success with raptiva? i've read good things about it, and it seems less harsh and scary than embrel or methawhatever. also, it sounds like a name for a dinosaur, and that appeals to me.

Hi Psexy,

Raptiva, Enbrel and the other biological controls have their place, but too often patients are not properly informed of the often dangerous and serious side effects. Raptiva in particular I issues with how this information was not originally forthcoming from the manufacturer, who was ordered to present more comprehensive information on the proven side effects. But with all treatments, if there is more good in it than bad, then it may suit some people better than other treatments. I ahve not personally been game to try either of those drugs.

hello psexy - I think I just read that it can cost a fortune if you do not have private health insurance? Not sure if you have started your treatment yet but it seems that the stronger treatments are used by people with very bad psoriasis once they have seen the possible side effects and want to accept the risks. I read something recently on the possible side effects and I don't think my psoriasis is bad enough to take those risks so it is probably a personal decision to use these things to treat psoriasis.
