SCALP PSORIASIS

Hi I am new to this website. I have been reading the comments on scalp psoriasis which I have (diagnosed with it last year). I have been doing quite abit of research and found after using Apple Cider Vinegar (2 treatments) the results were amazing. My doctor prescribed Locoid 0.1% but after one year I have found it to be useless. I was going to go to Holistic Hair in Mairangi Bay, Auckland which specialises in treatments for Scalp problems and was reading an article questioning the use of Apple Cider Vinegar in their products so I went to goggle and typed in ACV and what do you know people are using it for relief from Psoriasis in their hair and all over their body. In the morning I massaged the ACV into my scalp and left for one hour (as my scalp was very bad) and then shampooed it out and then that evening I did it again and wa la. Hey presto it's almost gone so now I will just go back to a medicated shampoo or Olive Oil 2 x a week. The key i think is keeping your scalp moisturised and Olive Oil is great for that, helps lift the scabs.

Hi Lisaw,

Apple Cider Vinegar probably works much the same way as medications containing scalic acids or coal tars. They are fairly common treatmens, the Apple Cider is most likely a more natural alternative. I am very glad that you have found something that helps for you. The acidity in the vinigar is probably burning and disolving the dead skin flakes.
