newly diagnosed

I was only diagnosed 2 days ago with p. I have had it for almost a year and not known what it was; thought it was a spider bite that wouldnt' clear up and then started getting the blisters on the bottom of my feet and the heel of my other foot and now on my hands. I'm a health care specialist and can't wear latex anything. My doc gave me steroids to take and some cream; they're both making me nuts with the side effects. The idea of having p is upsetting in itself; the worst part of it so far is the itching on my feet. I wear open toe shoes hoping this will help but it doesn't. Any suggestions? Also, since I'm new at this, is there anything that can be done about decreasing the scaring. I have scars on my palms already and my heel is almost deformed from the scaring. I would welcome any suggestions; no help from the docs in the town i live in. Thanks, Maxine
