Hello everyone,
I have spent the last hour and a half reading almost every posting on this forum. I can honestly say I am thrilled! :D I actually found this site by accident while reading up on some of the injection options for P. I am 38 years old and have suffered from P since the age of 13. No infections, no family hx, but I did experience a traumatic exp at 13. I have seen probably every derm in the city since childhood and have used everything from steroids to injections to paste. I have P covering about 60% of my body. Sometimes it gets me down, but I have a loving family and friends that help me get through it. After reading these postings, I am very thankful that there are people out there that really know what someone is going through when they suffer with this. Kudos to you Nick for making this real. Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas. However, I am interested in this light treatment. What is the dermalight 80 and where can I get it. :D Thanks for listening.

Hello Mia and welcome aboard!

The Dermalight80 is a hand held phototherapy lamp. They are very popular in Europe, USA, Australia and now most parts of the world. There are several copies of this product, but the Dermalight80 is the original unit. You can see it here; http://www.beatpsoriasis.com/pricelist.htm or order it here; http://beatpsoriasis.com/shop/product_i ... ucts_id=29 As with most treatments, it may not be perfect for everybody - but that is why we offer a 90 day money back (less restocking fee and our freight costs) but at least there is a guarantee! This form of treatment seems to suit the widest range of people and also seems to give the longest remission periods. Because you own the device you can continue treatment as often as needed making it more effective than clinical treatments.

well, there is my punt - but only because you asked so nicely!

Thank you so much for the info! :D I will be checking my DME benefits with my insurance carrier for I think the best product for my situation is the Dermalight 800 due to the amount of plaque on my body. Legs are the biggest issue, pretty painful at the moment. I am willing to try something like this without hesitation. I am pretty much through with physicians and the $$$ copays I pay out for meds every three weeks.
Once again, thank you!!! I really appreciate it. :D :D

hi mia. same story here, I joined this forum a while back but only just got online again now. there seems to be a lot of similarities in the stories that appear online here about when psoriasis started for different people. I am sorry to hear that you have 60% coverage. I didn't know it was rated like that, but I think I only have about 10% maybe.

Hello...I'm back. Took a "little vacation" before school season. WOW. I can't believe how many entries came in since I had last been on! Amazing.
It's hard to describe a percentage with P. I do it because I can't really tell someone where it is and make it a short process. It's pretty much on all four limbs. Mostly the legs like everyone else. I wonder why that is? anyway, the arms are mostly covered at elbows and down the bone line to the wrist, then my knuckles on my hands. Each side of the torso but not on the stomach or back. Thankfully none on my face. That would probably be the breaking point for me. Sometimes it get worse in the winter or under severe stress, like almost a nervous bd. TEE HEE HEE>
