Psoriasis treatment with Dermalight80.

Psoriasis is a skin disease but it is not contagious. The name of this skin disorder comes from the Greek work for "itch." Psoriasis can be hereditary or it can be the result of allergies (like allergy to foods or chemicals). Sometimes psoriasis may also be triggered through stress. It is estimated that around 5% of the population suffers from psoriasis and the number is growing. Psoriasis is more or less a permanent condition. Once a person gets it it's there for life. If it does go away it won’t be through any treatment but just a random even triggered by unknown factors.

When a person develops psoriasis, the body starts producing too many skin cells. This often results in swollen or dry and flaky skin. The skin may also appear red, itchy, sore, cracked, and tender. The common areas affected by psoriasis are scalp, hands, stomach, knees, elbows, and feet. It is often found in combination with dandruff and certain types of arthritis.

UV Photo-therapy is producing good results and has satisfied many people through effective treatment of psoriasis. The only possible side effect is that of overexposure to UV that might lead to sunburn or even skin cancer. This is just a possibility though there is no single documented or reported case of anyone developing skin cancer through the latest Narrow Band UV Photo-therapy for psoriasis as offered in the Dermalight80 lamp.

The light in solariums and tanning salons is UVA light. The light used in psoriasis treatment is UVB light so the solarium is not going to treat you. UVB therapy is much safer than the wide band light that was used earlier and it is definitely safer than exposure to direct UV exposure from the sun. As of now there is no connection between Narrow Band UVB treatment and skin cancer. Narrow Band UVB phototherapy is targeted and controlled exposure, unlike sun exposure that is random and all of the UV spectrum.

Dermalight80 is the original and still the best handheld UV Photo-therapy devices available today. It is reasonably priced and adheres to high medical standards. The unit is compact and also versatile enough for home use. Dermalight80 can be used in the treatment of most body part that is affected by psoriasis. This includes the scalp that may be treated through a unique comb shaped attachment that is included with every unit. Dermalight80 comes with standard UVB-Narrow Band 311nm bulbs. You may choose UVA or UVB bulbs with incurring any extra charges.

Dermalight80 UV lamp is one of the most recommended devices for home use and is recommended for the treatment of psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, and other skin conditions that can benefit from UV light.
